I know people who shop at Brooks brothers, they are all overweight.

I have tried plenty of outerwear brands at bloomingdales, Hugo boss is the only cut that is slim. I suppose that is the same case for suits (until you pay Armani prices).

Under $800, slim fit. I'm a 40L, 34 waist. I like the cut of Hugo Boss, but obviously you folks here don't like the brand, so please give me suggestions!

Surely whoever made your black, brown, and blue suits also make gray suits.

I bought Hugo boss as a "newbie" not knowing anything except American brands (BB) are made for fat people. I come to this forum and you folks suggest to me none other than BB!

Are you looking for a suit that fits your skinny frame, or are you looking for a suit with narrow lapels? Brooks Brothers can handle the first. H&M is your place for the second.

I have no idea what a lapel is. I'm a newbie.

My current suits are Boss Black I did not like the Hugo line.

BB is considered a wardrobe corner filler for some, a staple for others. Few would call BB trash, few would call it the epitome of mens tailoring. Its good stuff, perhaps not great. Hugo though is a real mixed bag - ranging at worst from the truly awful to at best the lower scale of mediocrity.

In regards to suits, Im sure even BB's cheapest line gets more credit here than Hugo Boss's best line. No need to even mention BB's 1818 or golden fleece for comparative purposes - the answer is obvious to anyone with a good eye. Black fleece gets some flak, but that is probably a price issue rather than a dig at their quality. Hugo is best avoided unless the suit goes on sale for under $300. For BB, a 1818 suit on a sale is a pretty good score even if it is twice the price of Hugo.

This is kind of silly. If it comes down to terminology, why bother posting that? No one is going to define words for you. Try googling the term and then take the guy's advice from there.

If you really like boss suits and you need a grey, see if you can get one for 400. Not that bad. There's definitely value in a fit you really like, even if people here tell you what they'd pay for Boss is less.

Plus, with people suggesting Brooks Bros, you'd have to wait for a sale anyway, so wait for a big sale on boss in a grey. You already know how boss fits you so try buying it on ebay. Problem solved.

That's sort of offensive.

Dude, virtually every brand there is anywhere is doing a "slim fit" or "modern fit" or "tailored fit" line. Yes, even Brooks Brothers.

I can attest that the Milano stuff (from BB) is very slim fit. The pants are low-rise nuthuggers.

So my question to you was, are you actually skinny, or do you want something that looks youthful? Because for "youthful" you aren't really going to find anything "SF approved" by the MC crowd. You should ask in the Streetwear & Denim forum.

Sure, but is there not a balance? Some common ground between the two styles? Like a "contemporary fit" with a mid-rise trouser and a slightly-suppressed waist? I'm sure you're talking plently of $$$ with those kinds of specifics, though.
