Fat people were such a rarity there I would be surprised when I saw one so I couldn't resist counting :).

The ex-Soviets were fat because of food shortages and consequently, a steady diet of bread, potatos, rotten sausage and vodka. The younger generation are some of the fittest in Europe

You really are a strong believer in anecdotal evidence. Which is good, because the actual data doesn't support you. At all.

In fact, the Ukraine is the most obese country in Eastern Europe.

The Ukraine has the highest rate of coronary heart disease in Eastern Europe and, incidentally, it's 8 times higher than the United States (despite our atrocious health care system)

LK,

do you see a lot of fatties in China, especially the younger generation? I assume western styled fast foods are quite popular with them?

I don't doubt that but I'm just stating what I SAW. This was my 2nd trip to Ukraine and I've visited 3 cities - Kiev, Sumy and Zaparozhe. Again I'm stating whatt I SAW from going around in the cities at least 8 hours a day.

All the fat in your body is clearly affecting the bloodflow to your brain.

Yes, but keep in mind that in Japan, someone is considered like morbidly obese if they have a 32" waist.

I've heard, however, that Chinese boys especially are getting incredibly fat.

Thank you! My intention by posting that picture was to have a light-hearted discussion on portion sizes, not to get a whole argument started on political beliefs. In fact, I was even called a terrorist in a PM. All because of posting a large portion size! Sheesh! Lighten up guys!

No I live ITP. I was there because that place was the only one I found that was going to show the US Open Final on big screen. Again the point is not where its not where its located but the portion size, being an appetizer.

Unless this portion size bullshit stops, we're pretty fucked as a country. Even the "health" nuts here often eat "clean", but massive amounts of it. They're all like "I EAT 7 BAGS FOR FROZEN VEGGIES AND AN ENTIRE CAULIFLOWER". It's like, brah, I know that's low calorie, but only an elephant needs that much ******* food.

They think they're eating healthier, but they're still not getting rid of the root problem. Generally, healthy people don't eat a ton. I also think most healthy countries don't have that much in the way of "health food". Least of all, "reduced fat" or "light" snack food.
