The iPhone has taken off like crazy in Japan, now. Almost 100% of my friends now have an iPhone. You can get such a good deal here on it. With a 2-year contract, the cheaper model is completely free, and the higher capacity one costs only $5 / month. The full data plan is around $40 / mo. My previous phone cost about $80 / mo. for data / voice. I gutted that service to allow only only 20 minutes / mo. and pay about $9 / mo. for that one and a total of ~$50 for the iPhone. In total, having the two phones is actually cheaper than my previous phone alone.

this thing is slick. facetime is awesome and the same apps i had on the droid are just way better on the iphone.
i miss having shapewriter as my default keyboard and the gmail integration of droid. other than that, i'm a happy camper so far.
