I think this is a great effort, and you've avoided the typical n00b temptation, which is to go absolutely over the top. I did that and am STILL working on taming it down. They were a a bit more uniform at first, but from the very first polish, without really trying or using any different polish, the caps darkened massively more than rest of the leather. Perhaps because I tend to mirror-shine toecaps but not the rest of the shoe, and something about the leather used for this toecap was different. Odd, but I like the effect, so haven't tried to "correct" it.

It's a linen suit for hot weather, they're just baggy by nature. It's for relaxing. Jacket does look like it might be a little long though.
