No.
I am a 39L in Brooks Brothers Regent and the J.Crew Ludlow suit in a 40L is about 2 or 3 sizes too big.
The Ludlow jacket is a joke.

Me too. It's alright, but I think the waxed finish and details on the JC version look a lot nicer. Still waiting to see what it ends up costing.

When I emailed customer service, they said it was $268 and came in black. Reading the previews on various blogs, they said it was navy so I was psyched, but will probably pass for it in black at that price.

I hope (pray) you guys are not disappointed in the red chambray.
I have a feeling it is going to be baggy and thin.

The fit is kinda big, def bigger then the secret wash shirts. And its not really a dark red also. More of a light washed red. It's also 75% cotton 25% linen.

It's def a lightweight shirt, its coming out for the spring/summer season. I own a previous J.Crew chambray and know the deal. Student discount the shirt came out too 83 bucks.

I thought I might regret passing on the red chambray but now I'm definitely glad I passed on it.

It's really not that bad...the thing is that interest in this shirt hit critical mass like 3 months in advance that there was bound to be some let down when they finally released the actual thing.
