I plan to ask my tailor to make a one button, peak lapel suit for me. I have a few details that I have not yet decided on. What is your suggestion?

Dark blue solid or dark blue pinstripe;

Ticket pocket or no

Thanks.

^ Oh yeah, definitely go with the hanger creases on the pants! Nice touch.

If your going with a one button then I would do a solid vs a stripe. Also no ticket pocket since the one button in generally shorter, but a vest would work in this situation.

Not all peak lapels, but here are various ideas on what one button suits can look like. Most of these are SF members. *** Disclaimer, as usual if any of those pictured want the pic taken down just say the word.

I would love the Beaman. It's perfect as a fantasy suit for me.

Try first the solid dark navy - it is less visible (at least that is what I've done). Pinstripe is more tricky, the danger is that you can look more "Al Capone". A DB vest will be nice, but think about where you will be able to wear!

I like SBPL but I rarely see them executed well. I would go one button, chalkstripe pattern, SB vest with no lapels. I don't see a problem with a ticket pocket even though some say it disturbs the line and adds visual clutter, however, I think most people wouldn't notice.

I think the gangster association is more in the mind of the wearer or would be wearer than it is in the mind of the audience, stripes are everywhere.
