I'm looking for an alternative to the Barbour Liddesdale. Any suggestions for maker/model for quilted jackets that'll work over a suit?

I like the Barbour Milano for this purpose--it's a little more substantial and a little less shiny than the Liddesdale.

I notice brands like Barbour and Lavenham can be bought at very low prices. On the contrary, many brands favoured here are relatively expensive (Kiton, Borrelli, Isaia, Attolini et cetera).

Still, people on this forum and from other places (stijlforum.nl and Men's Ex) seem to favour brands like Barbour. Why is this? Is it because of the authenticity of these brands?

I saw once on ebay a beautiful Kilgour fitted quilted jacket in navy. Maybe from the AW 2006 or 2007 collections. I wish I could find one...
