Can I wear Denim on Denim?

What do you think about same color denim jean and shirt together? I'm thinking of wearing RRL snap shirt (dark) with dark Naked and Famous jean and a distressed oxford shoe. Thoughts? I hear it is a NO NO, but I like it.

I had a professor who wore denim on denim everyday, everyone thought it was pretty cool.

+1! If you did, you might as well a denim jump suit...that's what it would look like, IMHO. Wear the denim jeans with a nice non-denim, different colored button down shirt.
