Rate this suit (slovak taylor)

Hello all,

Please rate this suit.

The cloth is from W. Jungmann & Neffe Vienna it is 100% Linen.
The taylor is M. Zahradnik whitch works with Jungmann.

Way too big.

I won't say anything else negative as it looks like killing people mercilessly is not foreign to you.

Sorry, its not a good fit at all. I'm surprised that Jungmann would endorse such a tailor.

It is cut too large for you.

Jungmann's In-House-Tailor normally arranges two, sometimes three fittings with his customers.
In my case, six fittings seemed necessary to fullfill my high expectations.
But finally the suit turned out satisfactory, having the button-holes resewn by my own specialist for this - to my eye - extremely sensitive type of skill.

Mr.Zahradnik is a classic artisan, he knows how to make a bespoke suit - but: his horizon was the CSSR , now Slovakia until not so long ago. So he knows how to do a bespoke suit as a handicrafter, but not as a man generally familiar with the high-class style of the on-the-ritz-putters of todays .

So, if you go to Jungmann's Tailor Mr. Zahradnik as a new customer for the first time, you will be well advised to bring templates with you, to show him where the journey is bound.

And use the fittings to explain your wishes again and again.

The second suit will turn out gorgeous then. And you should keep in mind, that two of those suits cost less than one Kiton off-the-rack.
A good bargain, even if the first is not the winner of your sartorial Oscar .

Although I do agree the Jacket is a bit long and could use more waist suppression and the vest is oversized, I think the overall fit is not as bad as people described.

It's a linen suit so a bit roomy would be nice just to get the air flowing for hot humid summers.

I don't think the coat is too long - if anything, its on the short side.

It looks like a hand-me-down from a larger sibling.

Coat and vest look long and overly roomy.

Sleeves are proper length but too large for your arms. Look at some of the esky illustrations in the Japanese guy's 30's suit pages, or the photo of the OP in the Rubinacci thread.

The pants are the best of the three pieces.

BTW - there ist nothing that wrong with your suit that it cannot be easily altered. My experience with Jungmann ( and Zahradnik) tells me, that - wth a little luck - you will not even get charged for.
About one and a half centimetre at each shoulder to the narrower side, about three or so centimetres more compression auround the waist. No prob.
And Z. should also make the sleeves narrower . The armwidth ist much too wide. (But also the cuffs of your shirt, IMHO)
The vest should be shortened and tapered a little, the same alterations would also bring much refinement to your trowsers.
Maybe Mr. Zahradnik will not be overhelmed with pleasure - but he will do the work, I'm sure.

You forget that hitmen need some room to pack their heat.

It's a handsome suit and a superb fit. This is summer, more casual type garment. A little more room here and there looks wonderful.

This obsessive Saville-inspired notion that a suit should fit like a sculpted 14th century suit of armor is just not applicable here.

Sorry, but: no.

It is simply too large, as stated by many above. That it's a summer garment is no excuse for that at all.
