I'm not sure if they still carry the Clifford in that color, but may be worth a trip if you're looking for the shoe in a darker shade of brown.

Barney's does C&J shoes in odd colors frequently - the tan Weymouths and some dark brown Cliffords both come to mind.

Thanks! I don't think the OP would be disappointed with these shoes; they're pretty cool.

You're right - after seeing those photos (thanks Holdfast!) I completely agree

Just wore them for the first time today - the photos don't accurately convey how nice they are (and those were nice photos). I'd wear them every day if I could - wish they came in a mid-brown too.

In a sea of boring black shoes downtown, they really stand out in a good way. I got more female head-turns during a 5-minute walk to get lunch than I can remember

Beautiful shoes. The thread photos are much better than C&J's own pics.

What of, Clifford vs. Downing?

I'm very glad you're having fun wearing them. I haven't worn mine in what seems like ages. With spring round the corner, I'm guessing they're going to get more play real soon.

I don't see the Downing in the retail catalog, though the Finsbury (341 last, benchgrade) looks very similar. I may give those a try at some point since they're available in Chestnut, though it will be awhile before I can replenish the shoe budget...

Canterbury is a Benchgrade model, Clifford a Handgrade. And the Canterbury is only available in Dark Brown and in G-fitting only (wide). The Canterbury is now replaced by the Finsbury, but remains in G-fitting.

how much of a difference between E and G fitting? i wear EEE for johnston and murphy. any chance i can fit into an E?

also, how much difference in terms of estatic is the benchgrade and handgrade? what commands the difference in pricing? worth paying more for handgrade? durability?

Thanks

To the OP, sorry for hijacking your thread. over enthusiasm...
