Good write-up. I will also say that Sam Hober does not over promise either. He told me when to expect my special order, it arrived one day early.

I am very happy with most of the CF ties I have, and with the SH tie I have. but people are right - David is responsive, easy to deal with, and makes exactly what you want.

but so far all i see on SH website are college stripes and dots ties.

does Mr. Hober carry any pattern similar to this:

i just love that intricate paisley. it is a CF

i know for some, the above may be an abomination.

I think Versace probably has something that would fit the bill...

Why would this be an abomination? Ironically, although I have maybe 12 CF ties, I dont have that one.

Check out Brooks Brothers - they have a selection of bright paisleys on sale in a nice silk. They were $79, but if you buy two the second is heavily discounted.

Worth a look, and you know that the product is real...

What exactly is ironic about that?

Far better? I don't have any Hobers but I do have one CF. It's an extremely well made tie. I'm not sure it's possible to do much better in terms of make.

I dunno. I think you should slice it open next to a Marinella to prove that.

+1. I have both and although David is a pleasure to deal with, the quality of the CF 7-fold ties is irreprochable

(yes, I did see Vintage Gent's ripped tie)

Looks like David will be adding some English woven paisley-s to the collection some time this month. May be a step up from Versace.
