"Matrix" leather jackets. You know, the black, very long variety. Sorry, in real life you just look like a sex offender in those. T-shirts with some unfunny, tired thing on it like "I'm with stupid" or whatever. Denim jackets. Only maybe 1% of men can pull it off without looking lame. Strangely they look much better on women. Running shoes when you're not doing sports and even then you could just get something that doesn't look like ****. Exhibit A (of the ****** variety):

No, you should NEVER wear that kind of running shoe unless you're actually runing, but serious runner gives a **** how fugly his shoes are.

Wearing sport clothing, if you're not playing sports. I have seen socks and sandals work (probably, on a runway), but, for the majority of the time, they don't work! T-shirts, etc, with ******, fraying logos/text splattered across the front! Buying clothes that say D&G, on the front, to make a statement. Then everything is individual. I nit-pick when I see something that I don't like/doesn't work, but that is personal preference, I suppose. I think this 'grunge', Rick Owens fad doesn't work 90% of the time, and hope the ****** trend dies!

That might be an exception, but I'd go with Van's Authentics or low-top chucks, sans socks.
