Going out for a "fancy" night out on the town? Try a sharply tailored jacket in a dark neutral fabric, like this charcoal wool by Loro Piana. Layer it with a matching vest - worn open here - for added warmth and visual interest.

As a general guideline, eveningwear should have a darker, more subtle color palette - which is why I like the pop of these white jeans (which I wear year-round).

Charcoal peak-lapel jacket +waistcoat (part of 3-piece suit), and black/white mini-gingham shirt all by Michael Andrews Bespoke (custom made). White jeans by Helmut Lang (size 34). Brown alligator belt by Ralph Lauren Purple Label. White linen pocket square cut & sewn myself. Penny loafers by Ferragamo.

It's difficult to dress like a douchebag and dress old at the same time, though, isn't it? Douchebaggery is youthful.

Hey geezer! You wear that blazer and loafers to the cafeteria at the old farts home? Only old people wear jackets, fogey! Who's the bird, your grand daughter?

I'ma ride my BMX on his lawn. Do an endo.

Precisely. A man in a tweed jacket with elbow patches can be a dick, a twat, or a blowhard, but rarely a douche.

I take a special measure of comfort in this knowledge.

The face of Abercrombie's CEO looks messed up. Does he have some sort of condition or disease I should know about before I put him on blast?

It's great how the white of his teeth is accented by the white of his "flip-flops" (I'm told it is no longer cool to call them thongs).
