why is there so few people ordering the classic and mariner sterlingwear p coat? you can still pop your collar with those right? and they are suppose to be the "fashionable" ones, according to the website....Originally Posted by ifpie

I was wondering the same thing while browsing the thread. I guess people just want the authentic because its the most simliar to the real deal in the navy? I'm not sure. I've heard the classic isnt as padded in the shoulders as the authentic which help your shoulders not look too awkwardly broad. I myself just ordered a Classic peacoat but will have to wait a while to receive since i ordered a 30s

Just noticed that my Sterlingwear had a defect. The materials and craftsmanship are truly superb but the only thing that ticked me off was that the shoulder seams were not even. I tried to hang them to straighten them out and no luck. Also, the collar does not stay popped..
Anyway, I decided to ship it back and go for the RL Authentic Pea Coat. It's arriving today and I will keep you posted with pics.

If you're not sure about the sizing and you really like it, I would go for it since he is offering a 14 day return

I would suggest you go with the 32S

I really like the navigator but I ended up returning it because there was a defect in the shoulder seam. A minor error that I cannot get through. That's just me being OC

Except I'm confused as to how he's going to alter the chest to be bigger than it is currently. Always return stuff that doesn't fit, even if it will cost you some hassle and shipping. You'll just end up selling it at a greater loss in the future. If everything else fits right, the cut is just not right for you on that one.
If everything fits fine except the armpit, I would have it tailored rather than getting a large and expecting a totally different fit all throughout.Originally Posted by zipidy928
