Saw "Cool Hunting People" blazer in FB today. My first time face to face with that brand. It appears this label fits 1:1 to US sizes after conversion( IT50=US40). I was surprised to see unlined cotton blazer with all seams finished very accurately in contrasting fabric . Overall it makes a good impression in terms of fit finish and fabric quality. Well above Ralph Lauren Polo or Jeans labels.

Word of advise on ordering sweaters from YOOX.
If YOOX describes fabric as heavy-weight jumper it means it is made of marine docking cables. Don't think that "heavy-weight" is a relative term. Yoox really means it fuking heavy-weight!

MARNI Jakcet sizes are full size too small. If you are US38R(IT-48) order US40R(IT-50)

Dries Van Notten cuts accurately and adequately to US sizes.

Viktor and Rolf full to half size too large for M line. Cut is too drapey in a body and too tight in a arm-holes. Idiotic.

Laverda pants are FULL size too large going by Waist size. Their Waist 30 is in fact waist 32. Cretins.

Stellatum fits true to US -IT sizes.

To bring this back to life for a bit...

I'm looking to buy some shirts (I'm skinny, 5'10, about 135 pounds) to wear untucked...
What are the recommended brands on Yoox?

the snobs may laugh, but the dress shirts at express are pretty fitted, hold up well and come with collar stays. sorry to derail the thread.

Just picked up a brown suede jacket by some brand called Dacute at 50%. Google doesn't turn up much useful about the brand, but the piece was a real positive surprise. The fit on the 48 was absolutely spot on (actually pretty close to an old Dior Homme military style jacket I have only with slightly slimmer sleeves..) and the quality seems decent for the price. The leather looks and feels good and is fitted with heavy YKK 8i's, and OPTI zippers for the inner pocket. Definitely one of those unknown Italian brands that get my thumbs up!

+100 these are a great alternative to higher end brands if you are willing to get them altered

I very recently bought 3 of the 1xm 'fitted' for 95$ and then slimmed them up in the sleeves, brought them in on the sides a tiny bit and shortened the length

the best part about them is if something happens to them you aren't out 200...

the several times i purchased from yoox i felt that the quality of the merchandise was a couple steps lower than the same brand name i would find elsewhere.

i purchased diesel and 7fam for my wife ( i know, bad examples here) but those that were from yoox came almost cardboardlike as compared to the ones found in stores that are of decent quality.
the diesels were also made in morocco. whilst the other ones i have are all made in italy.

and a pair of mantellassi i purchased that supposedly retailed at 495 were a joke. i know, because mantellassi even the lower end ones are at least of decent quality.

Shoe,
Most of the product that Yoox gets in is actually not from the U.S., but retailers in Europe, specifically Italy.

I would like to know about Tonello as well. Their suits and jackets look very nice. UPDATE: I searched around and according to past sales their jackets fit small ,so probably better stick with your true US size. No word on quality.

D.A. Alessandrini fits true to US size :EU48=US38 armholes are high and sleeves are narrow, fabrics are crap.

Etro needs tailoring for me they are good in shoulders but way too long and roomy in the chest.

Good rule of thumb is: If the brand is higher end brand (Etro, Malo, Brioni etc) the sizing is going to be more generous than some fashion forward brands (CN, Marni, Margiella).

I tried on a few of the Marc Jacobs coats they have (like this duffle) in person and they seemed huge. A european 46 fit more like a US 40.

It seems like they haven't reduced their prices in ages on the stuff that's already lowered.

Plus: I wonder if they do anything with things that are stored as "favorites.".. for example, an item that is in 10 people's favorite box is much less likely to be discounted (or only discounted only slightly more) than something that is in nobody's.
