I agree, but Reflection Eternal does not qualify as a group under the OP's definition of group.

While I like both, I think I like Black Star better because you get Mos and Kweli with Black Star.

Why aren't The Roots in this poll? I'd take Do You Want More and Things Fall Apart over most hip hop albums

but in terms of total package, relevance and ability to move forward with the times, Outkast is untouchable.

Thats a odd opinion. Murda Muzik and Hell on Earth aren't really similiar at all. When Hell on Earth was out Havoc produced a lof non album songs and song for other queens rapper in which had those "Havoc drums" so I can se you saying they had a lot of similiar sounding songs, but Murda Muzik is very different than Hell on Earth when is different than Infamous.

Don't think they are the best ever but Outkast's Aquemini is an unconventional classic.

Wu-Tang.

Why I consider them so good, is because almost all of their CDs can be played straight through. Every song they released was good to amazing. I find most rappers in general release about half good songs and half mediocre to bad songs, but this was never the case with Wu-Tang.

Plus, I've literally had Enter the 36 Chambers in my car CD player (6 disc) for years.

Outkast's entire catalogue is arguably classic (with the exception of Idlewild and the Speakerboxxx side of their double-disc, and even those had a few standouts).

i dunno jpierpont, i just find the task of listening to a Mobb Deep album (other than Infamous) from start to finish to be somewhat of a chore that gets monotonous after a while. Individually they have quite a few songs i like, no doubt.

LOL...okay. I don't own Hell on Earth anymore, as I loaned it out and never got it back. I only liked one or two songs on the album anyway. But I do own Murda Muzik. What about Murda Muzik makes it a classic?

I find Murda Muzik more listenable than HOE to be honest. (Have not revisited either in a long while)

From what i remember of HOE, I agree. But, I still don't consider either a classic.

Did anyone mention De La??

FTB: I really don't think Wu Tang has faded in to oblivion. Look at GZA or Ghost's solo career. Or even now as the whole Wu tours the festival circuit.

While they are top for me, I will admit Outkast has probably had wider mainstream success which certainly counts. What both those groups do have over a lot of other ones is clothing lines, film roles, television roles etc.

People's Instinctive Travels is sort of too De La Soul or even US3 Cantaloop-like for me

For a long time I had one tape in my car: a dubbed, really dirty sounding 36 Chambers tape. Luckily the album sounds no worse (maybe even better!) on second-generation dubs and a crappy car sound system.
