Aside from the starter marriage, a boatload of SW&D department store fashion clothing. My wife (current) sold all that stuff to some exchange shortly after I joined SF. A lot of it was practically new. The idea that I could have had a nice pair of C&J or Vass for each of those gucci or prada sneakers is nauseating.

OK. If we're getting into that stuff, the friggin' boat I rarely had time to use and then couldn't sell was way more expensive than a $2000 suit I couldn't wear.

Why? If they were MTM, are they just out of style? (vs fit)

How much did you spend on watches in that 1 year? $30,000? More?

Probably some ties I have bought online. I have started realizing that I am rarely ever happy with purchases that I make on discount. The whole discount thing makes me feel that I want something more than I actually do. With that said, I have made plenty of decisions that I am thoroughly pleased with... But I have several pants / ties / shirts that are all but unwearable.

Retail for me.

20 or so bespoke shirts made from average fabrics (pinpoint oxford, 100s broadcloth etc. from random mills).

I've gradually shifted to more luxe fabrics like thomas mason goldline and DJA and now the old shirts feel like banana republic cardboard and I never wear them. About $4k down the drain.
