I had no expectations so now that I have a decent job, make below decent money, and have nothing more to my name than a collection of nice clothes that I can't afford, I feel so accomplished.

To be honest, I had no real expectations.

I probably though I would be partying all the time, living in the city, and still really into punk rock.

In reality, I live in the burbs, but I did go to undergrad in Baltimore (county). I partied really hard in undergrad, but grad school and a fiancÃ

e completely took the wind out of that sail. I still go out and get drinks from time to time, but not how I expected it would be in my 20s. I definitely still listen to punk, but that has diverged into hardcore and early emo. Occasionally, I'll make it out to shows, but work and planning a marriage limit this to once every month or so.

As it turns out, I own a house on a street that I used to considered the epicenter of yuppie ***** that I resented. Now I look out my kitchen window and can see the jealousy on the face of others as they walk by and peer into my Norman Rockwell meets Cy Twoombley portrait of mid ******* century bullshit.

I always wanted to have early children... so i expected myself to be married and with at least one kid already, but i'm not married and have no babies now and it doesn't bother me much
