Hey guys,

Yoox seem to have quite a lot of HAUTE blazers for sale.

I've never heard of them before, but some are quite expensive. Does anyone know anything about the quality of the brand or who manufactures them?

Thanks.

^Ummm... no.

I think you need to re-evaluate and look around Yoox a little more. They have wonderful stuff and their pricing is very reasonable for most items, compared to retail. If you don't like fashion brands, fine, but such a categorical dismissal is a little unnecessary.

Haute is a fashion brand, yes, but they tend to make some interesting stuff. They aren't a large company and they aren't into "Sartorial Standards," so if you are expecting/wanting Caruso or Borrelli, you probably won't be interested. I'd compare them styling-wise to be something like the LM Altieri/Carpe Diem... the sort of "arte povera" stuff that is often washed/distressed/relaxed, BUT Haute is less expensive.

IF you can pull off the look, they can be a nice brand, though IIRC the fit can be rather odd depending on the item. But, I haven't seen the blazers in question and my experience with Haute was 3-4 years ago, so it's possible that the looks might have changed. Nevertheless, it's not a bad brand at all, though given the fit issues and use of different/odd fabrics and such, be ready to use Yoox's return policy!.

I'd compare them somewhat to Costume National for pricing/aesthetic, but styling also tries to be something like the LM Altieri/Carpe Diem... the sort of "arte povera" stuff that is often washed/distressed/relaxed.

Fair enough- I try not to dismiss anything out of hand and am breaking my own rule here and am quite familiar with yoox. I do find much of what they carry , however, to be significantly overpriced fashion-labels that are neither adventuresome, exceptional in quality, good value etc. Certainly they bring lower prices but print tees that start at $300 on sale for $100 are not good value in any measure, at least for me.

I agree, but that's not a fault of yoox... they are providing what the market wants/demands. And, I find that usually the shirts that are very high from the start are the "usual suspects"... like Dior, Prada, etc. Others, like Costume National, they start off very high, but nobody ever buys them at that price and waits until they get marked down. I'm content to let the hysterical teenagers fight over $215 Dior "made in turkey" tees, while I slip in and find a Caruso suit for $288 or some CN wool pants for $40. Anyway, that is all off-topic and not particularly relevant... but overall HAUTE is not a bad brand in general for one looking for a particular STYLE, if not "sartorial quality." EDIT: I finally thought of the designer's name... Vicenzo de Cotiis.

Agreed- And I wasn't attacking yoox, per se, but more the lines and value v price.

I'll shut up now. Sorry for the hi-jack, Ruby.
