Would a narrow tie look better on this tux? (pictures inside)

Okay so I'm going to prom on Jun 4th and I just went to the rental place and got this tux, The After Six LaStrada. My uncles knows the owner so he said he'd tailor it to my measurements and slim it down so the fit isn't a problem. But i got a greyish silver vest and the tie is greyish with silver stripes. The thing is the tie I got, I really don't like. I feel like it's kinda wide. Do you guys think a narrow tie would look nice? If so what color? Also where would i get one cause the rental place doesn't have narrows (under $50) Keep in mind i'm gonna be wearing a blueish boutonniere to match with my dates dress. Just to give you an idea of what i look like im about 5'11 built/slender and dark tan skin (im filipino) Thank for any input guys!

I'm not a fan of this look at all. However, I prefer that the tie width complement the width of the lapels.

My young friend, please tie on a bow tie for your prom. You will thank us all later.

+1. It looks reminiscent of a Thom Browne. The tux is salvagable, if not ideal, minus the red vest and Repp tie. Wear the jacket and trousers with a classic formal shirt, fcukn's suggested bow tie, and a solid white square, and you'll be good to go.

Thanks for all the input everyone! Keep in mine the vest and tie are silver/grey NOT red like depicted in the picture. Okay so def get a slim square bow tie. Where do you think i can get one of those for under $50? And what color, black? Also RyJ if I got a solid white square wont it look convoluted with the boutonniere there?

I got a bunch at a thrift shop. I may have an extra one lying around, get black.

+1 for the black bowtie. And if you want to wear a waistcoat make it a proper formal waistcoat like this:

If you're not going to choose a bow tie, which I too would say fits best, tie width and lapel width should go together.

You need a minimum purchase of 50 pounds to go to checkout :-/ I think im gonna bite the bullet and buy the bb model bow tie. I want the challenge of learning how to tie my own bow tie anyways. Should i keep the silver vest or just scrap it, i didn't really like the look of a cummberbund.
