Movie looks fine, it's not going to be like the book but why would it? The average North American (target audience) attention span and ability to process what they're seeing doesn't allow for that many story lines and character development within one movie. That's just the way it is, the movie will still be good but going into it with the mindset that it will be like the book just sets you up for disappointment.

What would make more sense would be to make a TV show (think of the Walking Dead). There's just far too much happening in the book for it to be compressed into a movie.

You really think the European attention span and cognitive function is any better?

Anthology films have done fine at the American box office. Especially in the horror genre. The Creepshow films, Tales from the Darkside, Twilight Zone. ****, Pulp Fiction was an anthology film.

Edit - but yeah this trailer looks like ****.

I wish they'd at least kept the oral history / documentary element. That was the best part of the book, IMO.

Word from early screening of footage from the film is that there is hardly any blood in it. Yes, a zombie film without much blood shown. It's apparently even sanitized looking for a PG-13 film and that says a lot.

I like the poster. How is that even close to the worst movie poster ever?
