I everyone,

I'm new to the forum but a long time boot lover. I recently acquired a pair of 1000 Mile Sneakers and noticed that no one has done a review on these yet so here are my initial impressions.

When I first picked up the box immediately noticed that these sneakers have some weight to them, upon taking them out of the box it seems that the weight is coming from the vibram sneaker sole. The leather is very soft and supple (no loose grain that I have noticed), more so than my 1000 Mile boots. Putting them on I get the impression that these will not take much to break in and feel very comfortable right out of the box. The boots seem well constructed with only a couple loose thread ends. I did note one QC issue and that has to do with the loop that helps keep the tongue in place, the one on the left shoe broke the first time I went to lace them up. Seems the stitching is too close and the leather loop ripped through the stitch. They have a nice synthetic sneaker insole that is leather lined and feels quite comfortable, the interior is largely unlined except up at the front there seems to be a thin felt like lining. These sneakers have a very low vamp that gives it an appearance of being very long, but once on the feet it wasn't that noticeable.

Fit:
I where a size 10 in the 1000 mile boots and opted to order a size 11 in the sneaker. I heard that these are quite narrow compared to the boots so I sized up from the boot. When I put the sneakers on they did feel narrower but because I sized up it was fine. In hind sight I probably should have got the 10.5 as I think with some break-in the leather will stretch and may end up feeling a little loose (though I haven't tried them on with athletic socks yet so that may help).

Overall the leather is gorgeous, and I think they have a unique look for someone who is looking for casual but not quite looking for a full on casual look of something like a Chuck Taylor.
