Cranes can get anything in the 1000 mile line except maybe the S Pleet women's collection. Just pick up the phone and call Dave at 573-254-3311 or send an email to cranescountrystore at gmail.com

Any ideas where to find these in Toronto? Bought a pair from Cranes last month but they are slightly too big so I'm selling them.

I'd like to try on a smaller size local locally.

Due West on Queen doesn't have any in stock.

Toronto? You don't say. I'll be in Toronto this Spring and again in the Summer. I'm going there for some R&R and to do some street style photo journalism and an essay on the Scarborough Bluffs.

    Hey guys,

I just placed an order for a pair of 1Ks and I sized 1/2 down from my original nike size (9.5-->9). Most people I read told people to size down 1 full size, but I am assuming it is because they are wearing the thin dress socks. I am going to be wearing the normal black cotton socks (not too thin or too thick like wool socks). Any advice? Should I change my shipment?

    Thanks!

I got mine at The Bay Yorkdale or you can also try Club Monaco on Bloor St.

I'm in the process of setting up a blog/ecom site just for these boots. That's what happens when a renegade webmaster decides to do something. LOL!

Can anyone tell me if the Wolverine 1000 mile is sleeker (more narrow and not as bulky) than the Red Wing Beckman? I like the look of the 1000 more but wasn't sure how bulky it is, even after looking at the pictures. Bulky shoes for me is a huge deal breaker so...
Also, where is the cheapest place to buy them??

    Thank you!

From the look of the picture, the Beckman seems to be the sleekest EXCEPT FOR THE RUGGED SOLE :(
Is there a version with leather sole?
    Thanks.

The Wolverines are much less bulky in person. I've just tried on both, and the Wolverine feels more like a shoe than a workboot to me. And with pants covering your ankles it looks more like a shoe than a boot. Whereas the Beckman feels and looks (with the round toe) like a boot.

    Argh more confused than ever.

Both the 10 and 9.5 fit fine. I think maybe the 9.5 was the best fit. I wore pretty thin socks but that's what I'd wear as I see these as spring and fall boots.

Is it crazy that I would size down 1.5? Does anyone else go down 1.5?

    I wear 11D in just about everything. For chucks and Clark's I'm a 10.5.

    Thanks

I usually wear anything from size 10 to size 11 (10 for dress and 11 for casual) but recently I got a pair of Loake Pimlico and size 9UK and I felt as though it could have been an even better fit if I would have gone down 1.5 size from US sizing rather than just 1. (Factory recommended 0.5...) Tried on some red wings as well and 10 was a bit big... Something about boots that just fits large for me.
