I've tried on the Courtland in brown and a coworker has them in black. I don't usually like plain-toe boots/shoes, but in the case of the 1000 Mile, IMO the plain-toe looked a lot better than the moc. Plus my coworker's crease looks awkward to me, but that's just my opinion. The half-sole is nice, but like many are being quoted (myself included), it's only $30 to put on a half-sole by a cobbler vs the $20 difference between the original and the Courtland.

Update on mine, ordered on Thursday afternoon from Crane's and they were at my doorstep (in Seattle, WA) Saturday morning. Unbelievable shipping time. Sadly, after wearing them in the house for an hour, I had to come to the conclusion that they were too tight. Called Crane's this morning and mine are on their way back and they put in an order of the 10.5 for me. Excited to finally wear them especially after a little tease...

Thanks. Moneysworth and Best will do it for $45, but they don't have Vibram soles, they have one called Emu I think. I'll check around a few other places.

thank you for the response. Does the obenauf's leather oil mess up the contrast stitching on the boot?

Can you (or anyone) link to this product? This may sound obtuse, but there are so many similar yet different products by Obenauf's, I'm afraid to purchase the wrong item.

    Thanks in advance.

what colour is the stock vibram heel on the wolverine 1000 mile boot? just curious as I’m about to put on a half sole on my pair and the cobbler offered me a dark brown and a black one.

I called wolverine and they told me it was dark brown but I want to make sure.

    thanks!

i'm also a satifisfied user of montana pitch blend thus far. seen multiple wet days (vancouver BC!) and so far so good. are you only using montana or are you also using an oil prior to treating it?

I just received these used 1000 miles. I couldn't tell from the original pictures but are these rust color 1000 miles?
    - also will the obenauf leather oil mess up the contrast stitching?

Hard to tell. Look inside the boot for the product code (starting with "W") and compare it to that on Wolverine website.

They are very dark brown almost indistinguishable from black.
