I saw these in progress in the workshop! Very different pre-finishing. Would love to see Zonta become more accessible as IMO their museum calf beats ilcea, and their suedes are very much on par with the top of cf stead.

on a less dressy note, resident leather encyclopedia @BColl_Has_Too_Many_Shoes peccary embossed Nordic elk CMTO should now be complete. Here’s my pair, same leather 3 ways:

Beautiful pair. Turned out great. "leather encyclopedia" would be a stretch. I only knew of the existence of the leather everyone else did the work on those haha.

I was rereading your post. Zonta is still the best museum calf maker (imo as well), and their suede is my favorite amongst suede producers (even over Stead).
Stead is exceptional, but something about the handfeel, general appearance, and colors (that I can see) of Zonta suedes that takes it for me.
