At least it's not one of those summer "cannery in Alaska" jobs that advertise in college newspapers.

Ooh-la-la, spending the wee hours of the morning in a cramped truck filled with hot sweaty muscular menfolk. You won't know which packages to handle first.

I'm impressed. I have faith. Good luck.

Don't you wish you weren't paying so much FICA? Maybe you wouldn't need a second job if taxes were lower.

I have a lot of respect for them that they are trying to instill that mentality in you. It will only help you in the future.

Will you last the rest of the summer? I certainly believe you can. It's just hard work, even you can survive that. It's also only 8 weeks. I have my doubts as to whether you'll stick it out, but I hope you do.

my friend works at ups, but hes the manager so he doesnt have to do any of the lifting. he says the job is really tough, the workers are dumbasses and many times try to get into fights with eachother. there was a thread just a bit ago about the type of people that work in these places. i think you should search for it.
