Why so petite?

Why is it that everything on B&S seems so small? I am big, but not gargantuan. Are all SFers (or at least SF sellers) so diminutive? C'mon guys, how about flogging some 62 suits and jackets? Some 18 shirts? Some 44-46 pants?

Different perspectives, man... I keep wondering why everything in B&S is so large, especially trousers. How about some 30-31?

Well maybe because suits in these sizes are indeed rare since most members do not inherit these bodily dimensions.

Petite? WHERE?! I've been looking and I come across very few 36 S/R listings. The ones listed are usually sold out by the time I find them. It seems like everything is either a 38 or 42.

The reason stuff on B&S is cheap is that most of it is stuff on sale at the end of a season, which means most of it will be the more common sizes in which much more items are made. Most brands only make a few things in very small or very large sizes because there aren't as many people who buy them, then these few items tend to sell out very quickly and never make it to the sales. And the very large sizes you're talking about, most brands don't make them that large at all, because it's impossible to just scale a pattern up to that kind of size while keeping the sort of proportions or silhouette that many brands are known for.

B&S is self-selecting. Sellers don't sell big stuff because big stuff is hard to sell. When I sold, I quickly realized how easy it was to get stuck with large stuff that wouldn't move. I stopped buying suits above 42 and shirts above 16.5 unless the deals were really extraordinary. Even longs are hard to move.

62EUR is not so big. When I was weight lifting, I was easily that size, although my pants were 36" waist.

Only when I leaned down to my current 56EUR have things started working out for me, both professionally and sartorially. Being a meathead does not rock well in the real world, whether that meat is blubber or steroid induced muscle.

That's what I was thinking. Most stuff on B&S tends to be regular sizes and the OP appears to be somewhat larger than average. e.g. 46 waist. I'm 34 waist and I'm certainly not petite.

I assume the OP, being in Oz, was posting Euro sizes. If you wear 34 EU trousers and that's not petite then we have very different ideas on the meaning of that word.
