1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Why no love for the three piece suit?

When your pants are cut with a 4" rise as those appear to be, it's hard not to show belt.

Don't wear belt with vest/waistcoat, it looks off.

Frankly, if you are going to wear a 3 piece suit, it shouldn't even have belt loops. If you are going to insist on wearing a belt, the rise needs to be high enough and the vest long enough that the belt and buckle are not visible.

Anyone who does not think that is an amazing fit is probably just sour that they can't pull it off.

Hey Roger, is that an Ashton or Richard cut?

^^^ I don't recall, but it is likely neither. This suit is several years old, and was a much more full cut than what you see here. 20 lb of weight loss made the thing hang on me like a tent, and it wasn't getting worn, so I turned my tailor loose on it - jacket shortened and taken in with some waist suppression, trousers slimmed, vest taken in, etc. So the end result is not really any given Sameulsohn cut anymore.

Mr. D and MrFu - thanks very much.

All this time I didn't know it was a no no to wear a belt with a 3 piece. Growing up is such a learning curve [IMG]

I think that the important thing is for the belt not to show. I am wearing a belt in all the the pictures that I posted, but (I hope) that the belt doesn't show.

I don't like wearing suspenders. I tried wearing suspenders once many years ago. It's not something that I would care to try again. I don't like side adjusters, either.

I have one pair of pants with side adjusters, but the side adjusters don't seem to work as well (for me) as a belt.

If you are afraid that the belt might create a bulge under your vest, wear a ribbon belt and slide the fastening around to the side of your pants.

Agreed - I'm wearing a belt in the photo also - not that anyone would know. If your belt doesn't have a clunky buckle, it shouldn't bulge at all.

I'd never wear a belt with a suit. Side adjusters always, maybe with suspenders as well.

I have rapidly started transitioning to the same thing. It's great.

Side adjusters only really work on high(er) waisted pants, though. That's an important thing to consider.

And they don't really work for all body types, either.

A low waisted trouser with a vest is just incongruous.

I was gonna say, low waisted trousers rarely work in any scenario [IMG]
