White stitching on Borrelli shirts?

Does anyone know what the white stitching (tight rows, just a few milimeters long each) at the top of the gauntlet and beside the second button is all about? Just curious...

Those are bar tacks (a reinforcement, to prevent ripping at points of stress).

Thank you! That is the word I was looking for, and that's what I had assumed they were. However, it's a bit puzzling that they're in white thread on a blue shirt, but also that the one next to the button (not the buttonhole, and running horizontally towards the edge of the placket) seems not to reinforce any stress point. Hmm...
