Hi everyone,

I bought these 2 ties recently with the intent of returning one. The shirt is white with a dark blue check pattern in case it's a little hard for you to see. If you have another suggestion i'd be open to it. Please excuse the dirty mirror. Thanks for any help!

I am not going to vote, both ties are ok with the grey suit. It is the shirt that has to go. That shirt collar is bad man, like real bad.

Why you ask..

1. because the blades are too short to reach the shirt front never mind the jacket lapel.
2. because there is no gap for the tie to fit into.

The shirt is also very powerful in colour, try a lighter one because this one kills the tie(s)

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you mentioned that because I was in a hurry to buy a shirt (ended up with that one) and get to a party. When I first put it on I thought the same thing about the fit but it went out of my mind a few seconds later. I might keep the shirt just to wear with jeans since it fits me well and was only $40, but I'll retire it from suit duty.

Ok, lets try to forget about the above pictures and tell me what you think about this combo. Shirt is Canali (solid light blue) I picked up on Ebay for $50 and had tailored (thanks to Put This On's excellent Ebay search thing). Thanks!

Good-looking combination now. It might look a bit better with a slightly bigger tie knot.

Much better. And leave the tie knot as is- fist sized knots always look like crap.

Thanks and I agree about the tie knot size. I don't really want to look like one of the commentators from Monday Night Football.

This one is sharp.

Consider changing that pocket square! Something like a blue or even a crisp white would go nicely with it. Hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like the gold doesn't really have anything to play off of in the rest of the suit!

Other than that, you're looking dapper, sir.

The red one fits better, although it's more universal. For example u can use it to navy blue suit, but i dont like ties and suits in similar colors.

everything looks good except the pocket square.

you should lightly reference a color already in the ensemble. as said above white would do well. red would be too much. Are there blue patterns in the tie? if so blue would work too.

That was my main concern. The tie is burgundy and the dots are white. All the colors I have there seem complimentary to me, but I was worried that each piece of clothing still looked a little disconnected because the ps/tie don't pick up any of each other's colors.
