Which overcoat would you choose?

Joseph Abboud

OR
Hugo Boss

I'm just starting my career at a large law firm. I'm a little on the shorter side (5'6"-5'7") so part of me likes the Hugo better because it's not as long. I'm worried the Joseph Abboud might make me look short.

Joseph Abboud is much more traditional and conservative...not sure if this is more appropriate for a young lawyer.

Insight is much appreciated.

The second seems much more casual to me...I guess it depends on where you want to wear it.

As long as the Abboud doesn't look too long on you, that's the way I would go. The Boss looks like a casual jacket.

I'd be wearing it to work. I'll either be in a suit or biz casual underneath. I am worried the 2nd one is a little too casual for this type of wear.

I'm 5'9 and in my experience, coats ending below the knees tend to make me look shorter. Though you should really go into a store and try different lengths to see what fits your body and torso-length to leg-length proportion.

I think that it depends on your body type. I saw a fellow on the subway platform, I'd reckon about 5'9" or maybe 5'10". He was wearing a full length coat, couple of inches below the knees, but he looked stunning in it. I believe that this was due to the fact the he was a fairly slender fellow with a very well fitting coat.

I prefer the Abboud for wearing over suits and other business related activities.
