I would like to now if there is correlation and causation in terms of where members have proposed to their wife and if they are divorced yet.

Nope...not that one, we used to go to the fireworks in the west of the city around Asagiri. But good idea to get engaged on NYE...never forget the date.

It was just before church on a Saturday, My wife was getting ready for church. I asked her, " What are you wearing to church today?" She responded. Then I responded with, "Is there room in your outfit for this?"

I proposed with a brooch that had been my grandmothers.

She put the pin on, and I was so stoked I almsot forgot to actually pop the question.

IMO, very bad idea. Burned into my memory is the disgrace of a poor schlub on NYE. Was many years ago, a typical NYE at a local pub in Ontario. Right after the NYE deal, guy stands up on a chair and silences the room. Makes the proposal. She rejects him and runs into the Ladies' Room bawling. Several girl friends rush after her, screaming names at the guy.

Next to the Jefferson Memorial on the Tidal Basin during cherry blossom season back in April. Good times.

How do you do it? I wish this website had a mentor program. I'd request you to be my big brother.

At the Chicago botanic garden with two violinists I had hired playing in the background. All the while, a photographer I had hired surreptiously photographed my proposal.

Hahah, I nearly choked on my coffee when I read this. Top stuff!!

Seriously though, I am about to embark on ring shopping and choosing a place to propose.

I gotta ask her old man first, they are old school and probably expect it.

Daunting as hell!

we knew we were going to be married and she knew i was going to see her at her home in the morning on the friday to propose. what she didnt know was i had made a paper hearts (225?) each decorated individually and uniquely with each one written why i love her or a memory of her and i. there were days when i made a heart (each one took awhile to make, about 10 minutes) with smiles and some days i made the hearts while shedding a tear.

I proposed on top of a beautiful old Guatemalan hotel at sunset with an amazing view of the sun setting behind a volcano. We then ate dinner and, generally, had an amazing evening.
