Just came back from SH - kind of light on mens stuff. No suits or tuxedos, and only sportcoats were tan suede. Best were shirts & ties: a decent amount of purple & black label shirts @ 75% off, but those were getting mobbed and I doubt they'll last the day. A whole bin of black label tuxedo shirts. A lot of purple label ties for $45, including repp stripes, paisleys, emblematics, knits, cashmere houndstooth & glen plaid, etc. No good shoes and not much casual wear except for sweaters.

When I was there yesterday, they had boxes of extra shirts under the shirt table - but they were already digging into those to replenish what was being taken from the tables. I left at 9:45 am yesterday morning so not sure how long that stuff was going to last . . .

I was there this morning. It seemed there was a restocking of most items--but no cashmere ties.

RL online spring sale event started today.

I picked up a RLPL suede car coat for ~$1300. Reg list was ~$4600. That was by far the best % discount in RLPL.

Bump, any news of an upcoming sale? I could use a few new items at 50% savings.

    Thanks

Just that it'll be Nov 3-7. Still TBD: a) discount, b) exclusions (cordovan shoes?).

What are you all finding at Ralph Lauren that is so appealing to buy? I never see anything that passes muster. Honest question.

For me, really just Ralph Lauren Black Label Sport Coats because I'm basically a 38L and their 40L fits me and has a strong, roped shoulder that I like with a nice drop. Lapels are a little skinny for me though, but their peak lapels are nice. :slayer:

    Checks website...

I don't like those skimpy lapels or the proportions at all. [IMG]

Does anyone know how the 40% + 15% discounts work on the private sale? Are they just added together, and you get 55% off the original price? For example, if the cordovan wingtips are $795, then 55% off would be $357.75.

Or, is it 40% off the original price, then an additional 15% off the reduced price? So,

    $795 less 40% = $477, then
    $477 less 15% = $405.35

It's almost a $50 difference....so which one do they use?
