There might be too much of a jump between $1000 and $2500 voting buttons. I would say $1500, to account for retail on JL prestige, Corthays, and anything else that falls between $1000 and $1500.

A $700 or $750 stop on the poll might also be waranted.

A lot of shoes today are over 500 but under 700.

There seems to be one more notch in pricing before you hit a grand.

Alden shells ( most of my shoes) are closing in on $600. I'd consider dropping $1k on Vass shells if the fit is good. I really can't justify more than that.

although there are some Bettanin and Venturi that I REALLY like

My comfort zone is under $20. Under the right circumstances, however, I could go higher.
There's no poll option for these numbers.

I would pay the 2500 for bespoke, but couldn't afford to do so on a regular basis. I'd do it for things i never saw in rtw, like those gaziano chocolate brown alligtor oxfords. Those would probably be more than 2500. Still, I'd do it just once. They rank as one of the most beautiful shoes i've ever seen and i'm really not an exotics guy. Most of my needs can be handled quite well by MTO when I finally get around to it.

I have never bought bespoke shoes. (probably one day if I keep hanging around you guys I will) For RTW, whenever I have spent over $1,200, to be honest, I haven't been happy. My favorites have been Lobb and Testoni at well under that price and usually on sale. And, I have found wonderful, all around shoes for around $300. However, I keep eyeing those Kitons at Neiman's...........(about $2K)

$194 is the most i've ever paid for a pair of shoes. if i ever break that amount, it'll be for a pair of Alden cordovan boots.

but saving for a home is a little more important right now.

You could trade in your Benz.

PS: Btw, are you still in the business for the 450, 6.9? I would love to have one.

Well, they do say "These boots were made for walking".

I'd love to get the 6.9 and zoom down the freeways with those people in Corvettes and Porsches wondering why an old sedan went past them so fast.
