Man, that is poetic in its symmetry: one point for each side of a tourne' Well-done!

Seriously, I think any skill in the world is good to have, but this is not one of the more important.

I can do up goofy fake teeth from an orange rind. Not that it compares, but it gets a chuckle out of the little one, so I'm kinda proud of it.

If you keep denigrating the only halfway impressive thing that I know how to do, I will get revenge somehow.

Maybe you'd be more impressed with yourself if you knew how to do a really nice tourne. I can show you next time I'm in SF, if you'd like.

I think it is a good skill to have, but kind of like you said, it is a skill that shows that you probably have other, more useful, skills. FWIW, I think fluting mushrooms is a lot harder. I can't do better than one in five adequately.

The really impressive part about that one, other than that it is pretty much perfect, is that I only made 7 cuts. No trimming.

You perform well under pressure. I can imagine one bead of sweat rolling down your face as you work with surgeon-like precision. And your wife is undoubtedly rolling her eyes off-camera as you once again tourne vegetables for your internet friends.

Fluting mushrooms is harder. I can't do that at all.
