I just finished Outer Banks on Netflix. It was good; but the big twist/reveal was kind of a stretch. It was well-acted though; fairly sure all the teen characters were played by actors in their mid- to late 20s

Magnum, p.i. is good at serving up the ultimate fantasy right now: living on a tropical island, driving a Ferrari, playing with your millionaire friend’s toys, solving mysteries, banging hot chicks, and just loads of general shenanigans. Besides a few great camp shirts, though, it ‘s fairly dismal in the cool 80s clothes category, so I might have to abandon it. It started in ‘81; as such, it’s been slow to shake off that whole wood panel, suffused in brown look of the 70s.

I need a show for when the wife is asleep, but one that won’t get me in trouble for watching without her. A secret show. I’m thinking Black Mirror, maybe.

Thanks, I hadn’t heard of that! I’ll definitely check it out in the wee hours.

I saw that Black Mirror has a separate (I think) made for TV movie — about a game designer in the 80s — that won an Emmy or similar. It’s on Amazon Prime, while the rest I think is on Netflix.

Anyway, I’ve just seen the first one (about the prime minister and the sheep!) and woah, awesome. Like a will self story.

At least where I am both the Black Mirror series and the movie Bandersnatch are on Netflix.

The movie is quite unique with its 'pick your own adventure' interactivity, even though it's more gimmicky than really great. Worth it though for at least one watch to see where the story takes you (and where you take it). You can always read up on the different paths later.

Thirteen years in the future, an improbably handsome game developer, near death, transfers his consciousness to a virtual reality ‘heaven’. It’s really more of a corporate resort, complete with up-sells (charged to the living relatives) and tech support, real-life have-nots who appear to the dead as virtual avatars similar to video game helpers.

Lockdown and the prospect of imminent death leaves me fairly depressed, but the gags here were fresh enough for some legit lols. This is a series I will finish...
