mmdht2 has all of 8 posts. I think he will see that most on SF are not partial to reptile shoes.

Some are though, and SF is more accepting of them than AAAC, I think.

A purple four-button suit and a walking stick with a skull on it?

And definitely a faux-sable coat.

gotcha. they are ugly to me but i thought that it was just my bad taste and thin wallet. so why are they made in the first place? are they super durable and comfortable to wear? the reason i post this is because i saw a pair of brown croc shoes on ebay at $20 starting bid and they are usually >$1000 new.

Most exotic skinned shoes are very ugly square toed things.

There is a handful of classic ones that are made. In my opinion, to pull it off as a classic look, it has to be a rounder toe with minimal broguing or other decoration. Either a simple captoe, or a plaintoe laceup or derby.

And with a matte finish.

Those aren't so bad...in fact, as croc shoes go, they're pretty nice. I think they'd go nicely with a variety of casual outfits, from dressier linen or cotton pants (not chinos, jeans, or moleskins, maybe fine-wale cords) to wool (finer tweeds, worsteds, and worsted flannel -- not sure about woolen flannel). Go with browns, olives, darker blues, and if you're adventurous, darker grays. Don't pair them with black or lighter colors, with the exception of tans.

again, what are the selling points on croc shoes? duarbility and comfort? they look like they are very pliable and would last a life time.

From the Saint Crispin's Homepage.
They are bespoke, but some of the rtw model are also offered in Croc leather.
