I have a special occasion i am attending tomorrow and i just bought this tie. My first idea was to wear this tie with a white button up and a black v nck sweater and black pants and black shoes. However , i wanted to switch it up. Instead of the white , i was gonna go with the semi dark and light grey shirt or a light blue shirt. I also have off white pants. Any other ideas?

Light blue shirt, the black sweater, and gray pants would probably look alright. I'd avoid wearing ties with darker shirts. I'd also avoid sweater and pants in the same color

I have had the same quandrum. I ended up purchasing a Saks Private Label in white and plum stripes. Semi spread collar. Mitered cuffs.
