What are some some small details on clothing that make you think more highly of a garment to a degree that is out of proportion to their actual effects.

For me, I love when my overcoats/trenches have a small button that lets me close the vent when I desire. I rarely ever do, but I think better of the coat for having that button there.

I like it when coats have a throat tab/colar strap. I never button them, but I just like the detail.

i love when a tailor proactively reinforces the trouser hem with the extra material that comes with the pants. Shows me that they actually care enough to take this extra step.

Jacket that use fabric under the collar, instead of the cheaper felt. Aside from bespoke, I've only seen this on Borrelli luxury vintage and some Kiton RTW jackets.

Showing what sort of workmanship I am generally exposed to (at least that which I actually examine as both of these details are nicely hidden), I don't think I've ever seen either of these details on actual garments, though they sound like something I would also like. Probably for the very reason that you would never see them.

Hidden pockets. I never use them, but finding one after wearing a coat for a few weeks - or months - always makes me smile.

Is cost the reason they use felt? I've seen them do the cutting on jackets, and they discard more excess fabric than they would need to do a collar.

- Throat latches
- Ticket Pockets
- A little contrasting color silken piece where the wool meets the lining inside a jacket
- A hidden, true ticket pocket on that seam
- Pick stitching
- Double vents

I liked Etros hidden labels that had random advise on them or claims like "la nuova tradizione". Genereally I like everything that is most useless.

Surgeon's cuffs on coats but not overcoats.

That little loop on finer pants that the belt buckle prong goes through.
