These are great movies, if you are a 9 year old boy.......

Being a 9 yr old boy in a movie theater again for 2 hours is one of the great pleasures of life

Platoon, wasn't bad but I definitely think it is one of the more overrated war movies. Only remembered one of the characters' names.

As a veteran of that lovely little piece of American history I found Apocalypse Now best captured the surreal weirdness of the whole thing . I liked Full Metal Jacket but though I was there at the time The Battle for Hue was a thing unto itself and an experience I am thankful not to have been involved in

dont know if id go that far. i liked it a lot, but was expecting more for all the credit it gets. could be a time lapse thing.


OTT, that scene in leftys pics is always a winner.

Speaking about Vietnam war relating movies, I think that all 3 aforementioned titles are great, Full Metal Jacket being my personal favourite. Deer Hunter is another masterpiece.
