Speaking of Ripley though, there was this movie I saw years ago that I really liked called Ripley's Game.

With Malkovich? That movie was flipping great.

Depends on who you ask, I guess. In the novels it was a little more complicated than that.

That's what I hear. Apparently, the film (TMR) went a tad overboard with the homosexual undertones whereas in the books he was a lot more...fluid?

Well in the original novel his desire for his friend is partially sexual, but it's also a desire to be him,
which he eventually does by killing him and assuming his identity.
Ripley is married in the later books but sex is not the priority for him, rather living a certain lifestyle is what he craves.

Which friend are you talking about?
Dickie or Norrington from Pirates of the Caribbean?

Oh, alright.
Norrington was his lover he killed at the end of the film.

Safe w/ Jason Statham. He's the new Charles Bronson/Sylvester Stallone. Man does a good action flick.

the best scene was the shootout in the cars when the russians were trying to get the girl, great camera angles.

Watched Project X the other. I was bored until the party started and even then the party got old. The really good parts was the collection of tittayz in the swimming pool and the riot. I'm glad I didn't see this movie in the theaters.

Yeah, boring and unfunny until the party. The gnome was a direct ripoff from The Babysitter. But good god what an incredible collection of young tittays :bounce2:

Yes it's based on the 3rd book of 3 about Ripley I believe, so is a sequel to the Matt Damon film

It's actually based on the third of five Ripley books. I was a fan of the series in college and read them all back then.

Also Richard Stark's "Parker" series of books is a great read.
