Speaking of Thinkpads, I've just sold my non-working T42, without the hard drive, to some dude for $100. I hear a new bottle of Scotch calling my name tonight.

Is there such a thing as a netbook with DVD player?

Yea I know they sell separate drives - I'm wondering if there is one out there with an internal player. I know I won't buy a netbook until they come up with one that integrates that.

I too have an iBook G4, nearly 4 years old by now. Had no isses whatsoever with over all the years, but now looking to upgrade to a new MBP 13" as it is quite slow especially when it comes to flash video or even anything that could be considered HD.

I have the macbook pro 15" that was before the current line of new macbook pros. It's 3 years old and needs a new battery. I'm thinking about getting the faster 13" pro. Do you think this upgrade is worth the money? Or should I just get a new battery and wait? I figure I can get a couple hundred bucks for this one and with my student discount end up spending about a grand for the new one.

I had the same issue with my T42, and then had it fixed for under $100 as described here. TOTALLY worth it in my opinion, as I love that series of laptops (also own a T43). My T42 has worked flawless ever since.
