twice in the past week had mixed roast meat platters (shared with 6-8 other people) at breweries in dusseldorf - roast goose, 3-4 different types of sausages, boiled pigs nuckel and roast pigs nuckel, ham and fat back bacon with beer. hmmmm
Fried smelt
Fried smelt? Interesting, given where you live. Where I grew up, they "run" every spring. We'd go out to the beach at midnight, start drinking, then about 3-4am they'd start to run into shore. You'd just go out with a five gallon plastic bucket, with holes poked in the bottom, and scoop them out. Very tasty little fish.
Drool!! Are the Christmas Markets open yet? I have fond memories of that sweet hot red wine and sausages in Dusseldorf. Lovely city.
Sandwich made from thanksgiving leftovers, of course.
