What color boat shoes?

Hi All. I'm looking to purchase my first pair of boat shoes, but I can't decide what color to get! Please help me decide! I plan to mostly wear them with shorts and dark blue jeans.

Part of me wants to go with a basic brown, but I'm also thinking it might be more fun to have something different.

Maybe something like this?

Or this?

I like a lot of the Sperry for J. Crew shoes. Do any of them strike your fancy?

I've also thought about going with a bolder color choice like this red, but I'm worried it's not as versatile.

Your thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Probably dark brown for the first pair since they can be paired up with the most stuff.

Navy on dark jeans is pretty eh to me but that's personal preference.

If you are having a problem choosing then go for the classic brown.

My son picked up his first pair this spring and went for some orange Sperry Topsiders. They look great, especially without socks, with jeans or white pants.

Do they turn his feet orange when he goes sockless? Assuming they're not orange to begin with, of course!

If you are actually going on a boat, better to buy bright red, lime green, orange, yellow or even plaid, so in case you go overboard, it's so much easier for them to find your floating body. Welcome to Styleforum waazzuup.

I don't intend to actually wear these on a boat.

I've got three pairs - navy blue, brunswick green and "classic", or mid-brown boat shoes. Of the three pairs, the navy blue gets by far the most wear. They look good with anything but the darkest indigo jeans, they look great with chinos and they look great with shorts.

ok. I'm starting to think I'm going to get either the brown or navy "broken in" Sperrys made for J. Crew. What do you guys think?
