I readily admit I do not have good taste in other things. Specifically, anything to do with food or beverage. I am a functional eater and drinker. For food, if it is healthy and is reasonably well prepared I am thrilled to eat it. I am the anti-foodie in that the finer details of food are either lost on me or meaningless to me. For alcohol, I rarely care to differentiate between different beers or brands of alcohol (though I am not so clueless as to not recognize and avoid a really ****** well-brand at a bar). A fine wine would probably be lost on me as well, though I can thankfully tell a rancid one. No, I drink to get buzzed/drunk, not to enjoy the taste. How plebeian of me.

In which arenas can you readily admit to not having much taste/discernment?

I am very knowledgeable when it comes to music and love certain bands which might be considered for the aficionado, but i also occasionally listen to a crappy pop band. For example, at the moment I enjoy "Torn" by Natalie Imbruglia! I'm even enjoying Taylor Swift, and she's pretty much a musical charicature of young white american pop princesses.

When it comes to wine, I do enjoy a good Sauvignon Blanc for about $12, but anything more than $20 a bottle and I can't see the point.

I think you're more liberated than others because you consume everything with equal gusto.

For me, it's always been sodas - Coke, Pepsi, Big Red, Shasta, Frostie Rootbeer - I don't give a ****. If it has bubbles and flavor, I'll drink it.
