    Very nice indeed! Do you know if they have the original movements inside them? And how recent was this?

    There's another great option for someone in your position which was just released this month:

    Cartier Tank Solo Automatic. The Solo has been around almost a decade but this is the first time a self-winding version has been added to the lineup. The nice thing about this one is that it retails for about $3,500 in steel on either a leather strap or bracelet; roughly $2k less than a comparable Santos or Tank Francaise. While I don't consider Cartier the epitome of watchmaking, this is, in my opinion, a very well-priced, suitable option. There is also a round version of the Solo, which has also recently been released as an automatic, though it is significantly larger.
