I have a lunch today that I need to dress slightly down for. Any comments on this wardrobe? I'm just starting out, so forgive me if I haven't yet read a certain thread on here

Most everyone will be wearing jeans, so I've decided to do the same. I was thinking jeans with a navy merino v-neck sweater, a baby blue button down with thin white stripes, and maybe a pink tie?

I've read the thread on jeans + tie, and from what I gather the consensus was with a v-neck to cover most of the tie, it's fine.

This shirt is similar to the one I'll be wearing: http://cdn.overstock.com/images/products/P11150800.jpg

The sweater is just a dark navy v-neck. I have yet to pick out the tie. Is pink a good choice, or maybe something more orange/rust? What about pairing it all with a brown cord jacket?

Sounds good... I'd choose an OCBD shirt, but I prefer them with everything.

Thanks. I ended up going with a pair of khaki slacks and an orange tie with some blue in it (it really brings out the blue shirt). Looked great. I'll take a picture of it later, as I think this is the best outfit I've put together myself
