I'm putting new wall covering and would like to do a smooth wall, but with the old framing I have, it isn't very straight and will need some shimming, etc.
Smooth wall isn't very common on the West coast so I'm wondering if anyone has some suggestions as to what the best option would be. I have a drywall company that says they can do it, but my contractor friend says it never turns out very well and says I should do imperfect smooth instead.
Anyone have any tricks on how I might accomplish a perfectly smooth wall and ceiling? I've also considered a slight trowel texture too, if that's what it's even called. I don't mean knock down/skip trowel.
