If the length of your item shrinks just soak the item, do not dry or squeeze the water out, then hang it over a towel rack or shower pole. Gravity plus the weight of the water will stretch the length back out.

They fit bigger, I’m usually a size 5 but 4 fits perfect with some room.

I go TTS cause I sorta like how it fits that way. I think if you want a slimmer more modern fit, then sizing down might make sense.

I sized down to a 4 but as norigim says if TTS I think then pulls off the full oversized look well.

I really like the short-form video “trailers” they’re doing on the dissertations. The photos have always been beautiful but seeing it in motion and with sound adds a lot to the appreciation of the craft.

Has anybody ever bought these traditional geta? Very cool but they seem more like a curio and pretty impractical for anything but house shoes… and not sure my downstairs neighbors would appreciate me clomping around the flat in literal wooden flip flops

i bought a pair of geta but ended up returning them - they're cool objects, but theyre lighter than i would have guessed (seems like from this dissertation its the wood) and the lack of ability to wear them outside (likely) and to your point about them clacking on wood floors, they are real loud. That said, for the right design and the right price, I'd be tempted again
