There was a pair of Chelsea's like this at the sample sale, for $100 I considered it but definitely not on my list of wants

Ha yeah. That makeup seems very specific stylistically. More of the A1923 or Guidi style of shoes.

Italian is Maryam. The service boot is American, horween. They're not planning to use much horween horsebutt anymore apparently, major issues with lasting and quality consistency.

Considering how much shell cordovan they make, I am guessing that their horsebutt is probably what they can’t use for anything else.

The engineers look interesting to me with a slightly different pattern more like their roper boots but can't do the 2030

I like the horsebutt engineers that are on 2030. I don’t think they’ve ever put out engineers on that last.

These would look nice in every way on the 2030 last...But they ruin the boot with that awkward rod straight vertical seam in front of the heel counter. Not a good pattern for a quality engineer and I'm not sure how such a pattern made it to production.

It does seem to be a new pattern, comparing it to the other engineers in try traditional last. The 2030 has the vamp overlapping on top of the heel counter.
